In-Clinic (Christchurch) or Online
Each session is designed to uncover and address the underlying movement patterns contributing to your upper back symptoms.
While every consultation is tailored for you, here’s what you can expect:
Discussion & Review – We talk through your progress, symptoms, history, and any new information that may help guide your improvement.
Whole-Body Assessment – We observe how you stand, walk, and move - looking at how your body loads, compensates, and shares movement.
Hands-On Assessment – If necessary, we use gentle movement testing to explore joint mechanics, muscle engagement, and how your body is coordinating movement.
Postural & Structural Analysis – Not just how you sit or stand - but how your overall alignment influences daily movement and long-term strain patterns.
Clear, Practical Plan – You leave with a focused, achievable plan of alignment exercises tailored to your body - so you know exactly what to work on between sessions.

Massage or stretching only gives short-term relief
Your upper back pain keeps returning
You want to understand why it keeps happening
You’re open to gentle, structured movement work
As a physiotherapist, I can also provide hands-on treatment (manual therapy) to help settle symptoms in the short term while we work toward longer-term alignment changes.
You are currently being investigated for a cardiac or significant respiratory condition - medical clearance should come first
You are looking only for forceful manipulation
Now isn’t the right time for you to commit to an approach that takes a bit of consistency (20-60 minutes regularly)

We focus on restoring alignment and improving how your body works together as a whole.
